This is an update for the SSH Dress Code Policy in the house, individual rooms, and outside. As most sisters know, becuase in reality not all muslims know, but should know that weare to dress modestly at all times, whether we are alone or not it is BEST to do so. Well, except when you are with your husband but that is a different case. When you are sharing a house with a few number of women there are gonna be some rules in what you can and cannot wear depending on where you are in the house.
DCP: In the House
This means that when you are walking around the home you MUST have proper clothes on. For those who do not understand what proper clothes are let me break it down to you.
DCP: Headgear in the home
For headgear concerns it's best to keep modest, for example to continue to wear hijab or niqab in the home. If you choose not to wear neither of those, then that's fine. A caution though, if you're hair is unkempt please get it done, or if your child has unkempt hair don't have them running around looking crazy, do their hair or get it done in the salon. If you wanna wear a head wrap and your neck is exposed that is fine.
DCP: Personal Quarters
Same condition applies for modest here. Even if you paid your way to have privacy in the house, that does NOT mean you should sit uncloth on anything in the room reguardless if it's yours or not. Other sisters will have to maybe one day use the same room that you stayed in. The bottom line is to be respectful and modest. You can wear tanktops, short sleeves, or even shorts in your room, but do NOT leave that room until you have put on more clothing. That's why if there is any emergency always, always choose modesty. Like a in case of fire, or natural disaster where we would have to rush out of the house for a certain reason you do NOT want to be caught looking half naked. Something to think about.
DCP: Outside the Home
When you go outside you are to ALWAYS practice modesty just like in the house or in your room.
We want to always promote decency inside and oustide the home. We do NOT want to see things we shouldn't see, so that's why we cover up appropriately.
DCP: Report Indecent exposure
If you feel that a sister is dressing inappropriately and is either denying or ignoring the dress code policy that is set for the house you may politely tell her in a private setting. If she doesn't do much about it tell us, because we do NOT encourage this type of behavior. We are modest women, and therefore while sharing and living with other sisters we must remain to do so or you may find someplace else to stay. You will get three strikes. Every sister has a right or privilege to live here, don't leave on a bad note because you couldn't follow simple rules to dress appropriately when told do so, that's pathetic. You can have fun here, but we still have to enforce the rules it's for everyone's protection and benefit.
