Chore duty

At the SSH, we like to be productive, as anyone else should be. We don't just offer free room + board to those who can't afford it. If you want to live you are going to have to obey the rules, and work for your room and board, along with your other sisters and young brothers. So, at least daily everyone needs to hav something to do for some hours, relax, and work. No, this isn't like a job you work at, but as muslim we should live in clean quarters, NOT dirty ones. Remember, cleanliness is next to godliness. Allah loves us to be clean, so as muslims we keep ourselves clean, and the property that he has entrusted us with because we are grateful to have such a places like this.

So, basically we hold a meeting with everyone or ask them an indvidual questionnire about the different types of duties we can do. We're not having maids and butlers, we do the work all by ourselves within a group of sisters breaking down large tasks to smaller ones and accomplishing that task as teamwork. Then there are some tasks you will be capableof doing alone, such as tidying up your room, bathing yourself (unless u aren't able to do so), and etc. While your kids live here a well they also will help wit the house work. Setting an example and teaching them the importance of cleaning the house is an important job. One that is pleasing to Allah as well as it is counted as a charity and good deed, only if done by the sake of Allah.

The types of chores that will be done in the house are:

Kitchen duty (prepare the meals, clean appliances, throw out old stuff, clean the floor, restock iems etc.)
Living room (dust, vaccuum, clean glass, etc)
Bathroom duty (and baby b-room)
Skool duty (assist the teacher, help her clean up, help the kids)
Car duty (wash the car, clean the interior, make sure that the car is running smoothly, and the neccesary equipment is in there)
Garden duty (water the plants, check on them, etc.)
Recreation duty (clean the exercise room, the pool, the tool shed, both playrooms and the recreation room)
Laundry duty (clean appliances, straighten up shelf, close up bottles + boxes, put away towels + clothes, etc.) If a sister is sick or out of town they should seek out a sister in whom they trust to take care of their clothes so when they get back they have fresh clothes to wear! When they are sick, their clothes need to be washed immediately with permission from the sister.
Salon duty (Straighten up items, clean the sinks, restock items, sweep, mop, etc.)
Study room duty (restock items, check items, vacuum floor, check computers, etc.)
Prayer room duty (clean rugs, vacuum floor, place fresh hijabs of different styles on the wall hanger, the clean shoe racks, etc)
Mail duty When the mail comes, a group of sisters will get a cart and put all the mail in their, and bring it to the mailroom. They will sort it out to the appropriate destination.
